All photo stills from the films Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049 are owned by Warner Bros. Add a sinister vibe into your room by putting up this amazing logo plaque of Tyrell Corporation, the makers of replicants. After all, some theories think that Deckard himself is a replicant. Be a proud fan of the Blade Runner franchise by hanging up this awesome vintage, vinyl record wall clock etched to look like Rick Deckard.
The year is and the landscape of Los Angeles has transformed into a dystopian, over-saturated and futuristic society. Neon signs illuminate the decaying streets, full of impersonal people crowding around. Advertisements are broadcasted across the sides of skyscrapers, creating a mix of consumerism and dystopia. Genetic engineering has become so advanced that synthetic humans, known as replicants, have been created to work on off-world colonies. Physically identical to human beings, replicants have superior strength and intellect, but with a life span of 4 years.

Gerald Thurston was a well-known designer whose main focus was on Mid-Century décor. His pieces were highly influential during the 1950s and 1960s. His postwar contemporary designs were very much sought-after, and one of his lamps was featured in Rick Deckard’s apartment. You can’t deny that Science-Fiction films have a large influence on the runway. Other sci-fi films, such as Alien, The Matrix, The Fifth Element and Star Wars and Star Trek franchises have been seen in countless runways, you just need to know where to look. "I wanted something you almost don't notice. I wouldn't say that I was going to dress him like Steve Jobs, wears a new one every day ... like a uniform."
Speaking of Joi, who’s programmed to please K, she sports an assortment of stylish wear, popping in and out of decades, with both Eastern and Western influences. For example, the yellow plastic coat was inspired by big, colorful rolls of plastic April spotted in Italy. Another Mid-Century piece featured in the set design of Blade Runner is this vintage Dazor desk lamp. Aptly described as a “Flying Saucer,” the lamp on Rachael’s desk does look like a UFO with its white curved head and metallic gold body and rim. Set in a dystopian world, Blade Runner’s over-all look is a heavy mix of the past and the future.
Blade Runner Officer K's Pistol - Blade Runner Gun - Blade Runner 2049 Blaster
So my job was to make the characters believable.” In other words, it was more about survival than fashion. Fans of the 1982 original loved Deckard’s simple but strong blaster. It’s no wonder that K’s LAPD blaster in the year 2049 would create the same effect. More sleek and modern, this blaster looks less like today’s real-life guns and more futuristic and deadly. The fur is explicitly fake, she added, because the real deal "hasn't existed for many years" -- another nod to Dick's novel, in which animal life is scarce. And the shearling jacket worn by Ryan Gosling's Officer K; the one Esquire called "badass" and "the real star" of the film's trailer?
He shows mercy to Deckard, saving the life of the man that was just trying to kill him. He speaks about the value of human life, remembering what he's achieved in his short lifetime and considers his own mortality. Alexander McQueen's angular, tailored Autumn-Winter 1998 ready-to-wear collection for Givenchy remains a paragon. Blade Runner Costumes
Raf Simons referenced Blade Runner in his Spring 2018 Menswear collection, both in the fashion and the set. Neon signs illuminated the runway, as models are enveloped in long coats and transparent umbrellas. The use of transparent plastic, as seen in Prada's 2002 Fall Collection, references the transparent raincoat that replicant Zhora, wears while fleeing from Deckard. From a fashion influence point of view, Blade Runner has become a major inspiration for neo-noir/cyberpunk looks and garments. Two of my favourite collections; McQueen's Givenchy Fall 1998 Couture Collection and Gareth Pugh's Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear Collection; references neo-noir fashion and the character Rachael. The 1940s silhouette, use of latex and leather-look fabric, opulent fur and structured 1980s shoulders create vibes of a powerful and futuristic femme fatale.
Instead of the noirish trench coat worn by Harrison Ford’s Deckard, she chose a simple, inexpensive coat made of laminated cotton with a fake fur high collar to shield him from the pollution. Channel your inner Blade Runner enthusiast by creating a space designed to be in-between times. Balance his unique cream walls with strong black leather furniture and a choice of period décor. You can even put elements of K’s life in 2049 all over the room as well.
Blade Runner was a film inspired by Philip K. Dick’s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?. Create a retro vibe in your room by adding this incredible Blade Runner-inspired VHS night light. Put this awesome dystopian-era license plate on your walls to add a vibe of the future in the room. It may not be the exact replica, but the rough texture, cream color, and recurring pattern makes it a great alternative to Deckard’s iconic wall tiles. These simple patterned mosaic tiles can also create a unique signature wall in any room. Controversial and significant, the origami unicorn has been treated by some fans as proof that Deckard himself is a replicant.

For any diehard fan of the film, a display glass box adds all the more prestige to the prop. The complete costume guide to Officer K portrayed by Ryan Gosling in Blade Runner 2049 movie. Pris, played by Daryl Hannah, caught Jeremy Scott's eye too.
Designed by Umberto Riva for Bieffeplast & called E63 Ruspa Lamp. Short glimpses of Deckard’s floors shows his preference for Afghan rugs. His quirky choice juxtaposes the seemingly vintage vibes of his rugs with his more modern-looking apartment.
For "Rampage," his second collection in the late '90s, Scott "wanted to create a wardrobe that appeared to be constructed from trash bags, fish and net" -- perhaps a call-back to this scene. "I wanted the feeling of the collection to convey emotion and aggression," he added. Send me exclusive offers, unique gift ideas, and personalized tips for shopping and selling on Etsy.
